Ganaha Hibiki ~ IdolM@ster 2 Album Cover
Inspiration: I’ve recently gotten into IdolM@ster and have several Hibiki costumes planned for the future. A friend of mine told me she was putting together a group of the album cover outfits and asked if I’d like to join in, so I made this costume. It was a lot of fun cosplaying with these girls!
Materials/Construction Details: Most of this costume was hand painted or dyed to make it the appropriate colors. The top and hair bow were painted with fabric paint to get the blue to teal gradient. White pants were dyed a very light blue/green color. I distressed the jeans using an exacto knife and by just cutting off the other leg. It took a couple washes to get it looking how I wanted. The jewelry was made with jade beads and brown leather cording. The boots started out white, but I painted them teal and made the fringe out of vinyl and added the white stitching around the top. I orignally painted the white, blue, and maroon pattern onto the belt, but when I looped the belt, the paint scraped off. Instead I ended up painting fabric and gluing it in place.
Wig: I bought the wig on ebay. It’s your traditional short base wig with a clip on pony tail. I cut and styled the bangs and added the ‘antenna’. The pony tail had some great layers cut into it, but for future Hibiki costumes I might buy an additional clip-on to add more body to her hair.
Prop: I like Hibiki because she’s the animal lover of the bunch, so I had to have Hamazou! I found the hamster plush at a thrift store, but had to paint it brown.
