Inspiration: When I saw the fruit dresses, I couldn’t resist!

Materials/Construction Details: I used a basic dress pattern for the base of this costume. I chose to use brown seude so that the dress would have a fuzzy texture similar to a kiwi. The kiwi slices on the dress were appliqued on and the seeds were black teardrop gems that were glued in place to add some dimension to the dress.

To make the kiwi sash, I bought circular cardboard ornaments from Michael’s, hand painted them to look like kiwis and match the colors on the dress, and strung them on a cord inbetween red beads. The shoulder leaves and hairpiece were made out of craft foam. The earings were wooden discs I painted in a similar fashion and attached to earring backings.

I found the lime green shoes on ebay and purchased the hunter green thigh highs from WeLoveColors.com.

Wig: I bought the wig on ebay. It’s your traditional short base wig with a clip on pony tail. I cut and styled the bangs and added the ‘antenna’.

Prop: My cosplay partner and I went to the craft store before our shoot and had fun putting together a basket of fake fruit. I was disappointed the store didn’t have any kiwis, but we got a good variety.
