Hikari Konohana
Strawberry Panic

Inspiration: I was asked to join this Strawberry Panic group and I’m glad I did because I met a lot of great cosplayers through this photoshoot.  I loved that I got to be Hikari in the group too.  Her innocence is infectious, so much so that she’s probably one of the most sought after girls in the series.  I liked how the girls of St. Spica all have slightly different designs to their school uniforms, rather than being all uniform like the other schools.  The different styles really showcase their different personalities and Hikari’s style is really cute!

Materials/Construction Details: The blue undershirt, white stockings, and blue maryjanes were all purchased.  The rest was just a lot of heavy white cotton and a several packs of tan bias tape.  We found the perfect brown plaid for the bows at JoAnns and made sure we did everything we could to match our outfits despite living in different states.

Wig:  The wig was bought on an ebay store and I loved the color and curls. Very little styling was done to make it work for Hikari.

Prop:  I didn’t have any real props for this costume, but we did put together a little tea party after our photoshoot.  I brought coconut almond truffles and Mary (Tamao) made some delicious fruit sandwiches. We sat down at a round table and enjoyed our little party in the middle of the con oblivious to the flashing cameras.
