Siesta
Zero no Tsukaima

Inspiration: Zero no Tsukaima is one of Meru’s favorite animes and she asked me to do a group with her.  I watched the show and was happy to take on the role of Siesta, Louise’s rival in love.  My friends like to say that I’m very in character when I wear this costume.  I’m not entirely sure what they mean by that, but Siesta’s character is incredibly sweet, but desperate.  I’ve cosplayed Siesta three different times, each time with a different person playing the male lead.  Who’s next?

Materials/Construction Details:  Siesta’s dress was simple to make.  I was able to use a basic dress pattern and just modify it slightly.  Meru shared her pattern for puff sleeves with me and I kept them poofy with layers of tulle.  She also made the blue resin gem for me.  The apron had a strange cut to it so I had to draft my own pattern, but overall, not too difficult to make.

Wig:  The wig is from amphigory.com and is the silkiest wig I’ve ever owned.
