Nami
One Piece

Inspiration: One Piece is a fantastic show, and unlike animes of a similar genre that have been going on way too long, One Piece continues to be good!  Nami is a thieving, self-centered pirate chick, but is an excellent navigator who occasionally shows a softer side.  I find her personality to be entertaining and she always gets all the cute outfits.  I would love to make more Nami costumes in the future!

Materials/Construction Details:  I started by making Nami’s signature skirt.  No matter what she’s wearing, she always has two circles on her hip.  I got the appropriate colored cotton, cut out the circles and sewed them in place once I finished the basic skirt.  I made a vector of Nami’s tattoo, sized it for my arm, and then printed it out on tattoo paper.  Unfortunately I forgot to flip the image, so my tattoo was backwards, but I’ll fix that for next time.  I purchased the top and the shoes because they reminded me of Nami’s style and I was done!

Wig: The wig is from cosplaywig on ebay.  It has a great style to it, but for some reason it had lavender fibers mixed in with the orange.  It’s only noticeable in bright sunlight, but still odd.  I love the color though and actually wore this wig a couple times outside of cosplay just for the fun of it!
