Lethe
Fire Emblem: Radiant Dawn

Inspiration: Lethe and Lyre are two adorable cat girls (beast tribe laguz) from a fantastic RPG series. What’s not to love? Making this costume gave me another chance to work with the very talented Envel, which is always a treat!

Materials/Construction Details: My costume partner drafted the patterns for the top and the shorts, which was extremely helpful. The shorts are made out of custom dyed stretch satine fabric. They had to be very high waisted since the top curves up so much at the sides and no skin shows. The top was made out of green seude for the most part, with a off-white knit in the bust area. All the trim around the sleeves and top was hand made out of cotton. Leather cording was used to make the crosses across the bust.

I had to make a lot of gauze strips for her legs and arms, custom dyeing them light green and off-white. I lucked out and found a pair of brown seude gloves that I turned into fingerless gloves. The armband was made out of the same knit as the top with the vinyl strips sewed in place at the top and the bottom and I ruffled the top edge of the knit. I used the same brown vinyl to make the leg band, using a buckle I confiscated from an old belt. I added iron-on to the back of the vinyl, which helped it stick to my leg and not slide down.

I found the boots at a thrift store, but I had to cut them down, add bias tape along the top, and add the vinyl straps around the toe and ankle.

Wig: Envel and I both bought our wigs from the same ebay seller in hopes of having matching pumpkin orange hair. I only had to trim the bangs and string a single bead into the wig.
