Caimie
One Piece

Inspiration: I absolutely love One Piece and I really liked Caimie’s character when she was introduced, but I wasn’t very interested in making her mermaid tail. Later in the story she had to hide that she was a mermaid, so she covered up her tail with a pink skirt. Therefore, I was able to cosplay Caimie without getting all scaly. It was perfect and this was also a great costume for a beach photoshoot!

Materials/Construction Details: I started with a yellow t-shirt, shortened it, and removed the sleeves and collar. I used those removed parts as a pattern to cut out maroon pieces in the exact same shape. Sewing the pieces back together gave me the yellow shirt with the maroon sleeves and collar. The star, dots, and word ‘crimin’ were all cut out and ironed on (appliquéd) in place. I found a long, white tiered skirt at a thrift shop and dyed it light pink. I wore ribbed pink socks so they would look like fin tips in case they showed and red pumps.

Wig: The wig is a scruffy in moss green from cosworx. I think making the scruffy was the best thing cosworx has ever done. It works for so many characters.
