Inspiration:

Materials/Construction Details: The hakama is made of a polyester cotton blend. I cut the bottom up, used a fray stopper to keep it from getting too messy, and sponge painted the bottom to look dirty.

The coat is made of a suiting with vinyl trim, hand embroidered details, and gold piping. The cuffs are hand painted with a design. I gave the bottom of the coat the same ripped treatment as the pants.

The shawl has a wire in it to help it keep it’s raised shape above the shoulders. Tiny squares were cut out of the bottom and then it was gradient dyed.

The kimono top is a think knit with stitched details.

The brown belt is not included because I use it with another costume, but it does come with the purple belt. The arm wraps are made of gauze strips.

Wig: The wig started as an Arda Matilda (a lacefront wig). I used foam to make the bump and then covered it with hair. The front hair accessories are made of vinyl. There’s a black bun attached in the back (also from Arda) decorated with pheasant feathers.
