It’s Christmas Time!

December4

I kicked off the Christmas season with Momocon’s Cosplayers on Ice at the Centennial Olympic Park in downtown Atlanta this past weekend. At the park there was an ice skating rink, a giant lighted Christmas Tree, and Christmas lights everywhere. Everything was beautiful…great friends, festive scenery, and cosplay all rolled into one fantastic evening!

I wore a revamped version of my Christmas Juvia costume, this time with a new wig and some other minor adjustments. Please check it out!

I hope everyone is enjoying whatever makes them smile during this season! It’s truly my favorite time of the year!

Maids and Holiday Plans

November27

Yesterday Samu-chan and I wore our K-On Maid outfits to Atlanta Anime Day. We had a great time taking goofy pictures and eating cake! I have to thank Envel Cosplay again for gifting me this costume! I have uploaded a lot of pictures from this shoot on my costume page.

Next weekend Momocon is hosting their annual Cosplayers on Ice. I had a great time last year and I’ll be there again in a revamped Christmas Juvia costume. I hope to see some of you there!

In other costume news, I am currently 98% done with Fionna from Adventure Time. I hope to get pictures of that costume soon! Meanwhile I’m making big plans for 2012 while slowly working on Jessica from Lunar bit by bit. I’ll update my upcoming costumes and conventions soon.

I hope everyone had an enjoyable Thanksgiving and happy holidays all around!

Anime Weekend Atlanta 2011

October4

This past weekend was Anime Weekend Atlanta’s 17th year and my 9th straight year in attendance. Thank you so much to Jason Merrill, the AWA staff (especially Megan in the cosplay gallery), and all my wonderful friends (new and old) who made it another fantastic year!

If you attended this year, you might have seen Kamikaze Kiss’s Kamikaze Kaitou Jeanne costumes, including my Miyako, in the Cosplay Gallery. It was really an honor to have our costumes included in this gallery and I can’t thank the con enough for the opportunity! We didn’t enter the costume contest this year, but we’re excited to start planning something big for next year!

This year I debuted three new costumes: Fantasia Juvia from Fairy Tail, Horo from Spice and Wolf, and Yukata Felicia from X-Edge. Please click on the pictures below to read more about these costumes and to see pictures. I also rewore my school uniform Ritsu on Sunday for a fun K-On shoot with my Mio and Azusa.

Juvia’s Fantasia Gown has been a dream costume of mine for some time. I was so happy I was able to make it a reality for this convention! Lots of love to my wonderful cosplay partner, Samu-chan, who made and wore Erza’s Fantasia outfit with me, despite not being a Fairy Tail geek like myself…and to the other Fairy Tail fans at the convention who made me feel loved! I promise this won’t be the last Juvia costume I make!

Pictures are being updated as they come in, so please check back! See all you AWA people next year!

Another Dragon*Con Come and Gone

September7

Dragon*Con 2011 was a crazy blur, but it was fantastic! I had such a good time with all my amazing friends! From the celebrity encounters to the overwhelming crowd appreciation of some of my costumes, this Dragon*Con is one I’ll always remember. I debuted five new costumes at this convention and rewore two from the previous year.

New pictures are coming in daily, so please check back often over the next few weeks!

Next stop AWA where I’ll be wearing Horo (Spice and Wolf), Yukata Felicia (Darkstalkers), and Fantasia Parade Juvia (Fairy Tail)!

Dragon*Con Progress Report

August4

Dragon*Con is just under a month away and I’m happy to say all my costumes are above 90% complete! Here are a couple previews of my upcoming costumes:

For Josie I decided to do a more modern and fun hairstyle rather than the traditional bob that she sports in the old cartoon. The bodysuit is made out of the same material that’s covering the ears. The ears themselves were made by the fabulous Yaya Han! You can get your own pair from her online store.

Doreah just needs a couple more details to be completed, but that’s the basic look of it. I can’t wait for the Game of Thrones group that’s taking place Friday night at D*C! I hope to see a lot of Thrones cosplay throughout the weekend! I’m already planning another costume from the series for next year.

I’m also doing one of Princess Bubblegum’s casual outfits. The moment I saw it I knew that was the outfit of hers I wanted to do. The Lady Rainicorn was painted on the shirt by hand. Felicia’s yukata was a must for me too since the paw print design is so cute! The big bow is gradient dyed from pink to green, which is better seen in person. It reminds me of a watermelon!

Full costumes will be posted after the convention which takes place September 2nd-5th!

Chasing Away the Crickets

July28

My website has been quiet, but I promise my sewing room has not been. Dragon*Con is quickly approaching and I will be debuting several new costumes, so expect many updates in the months of September and October! Here’s my costume line-up for Dragon*Con:

I’m so excited for this convention! It’s just one big party from Thursday to Monday and I have a lot of great costume groups planned. I hope to see you there!

I’ll also be attending Anime Weekend Atlanta at the end of September. I’ll be wearing my Fantasia parade Juvia gown on Saturday…so I really need to get started on that! Two of my friends gifted me with costumes for my birthday, Horro from Spice and Wolf and a K-On maid uniform, so I hope to get some shoots done of those soon as well. (Thanks, Mary and Jo!)

Therefore, I promise updates are on the way and apologize for things being so quiet! If you see me at these cons, please say hello!

Adjustments for Summer

June13

I’ve made some updates to my upcoming conventions and costumes. Though some costumes I had listed before have been removed, that only means they’ve been pushed back until 2012 or at least after AWA. They have not been canceled or forgotten. I also added a couple new costumes I have planned, including Josie from Josie and the Pussycats I’ll be doing with a great group of girls at Dragon*Con this year and Princess Bubblegum from the fun show, Adventure Time! As always, things happen and costume plans change, but I’m confident that the costumes I have listed now will happen this year.

I have also added a new completed costume, Miss Martian, so please check it out!

Though I haven’t finalized any plans, I’m definitely looking into cosplaying someone from the TV show Game of Thrones. I’m a big fan of the books and I’m really happy with how the TV adaption has gone so far. Currently I’m considering doing either Doreah or Ygritte (though she doesn’t show up until Season 2). Does anyone have any suggestions or requests? And for those who haven’t seen the show or read the books yet, I can’t recommend them enough!

I hope everyone is enjoying the summer so far!

Some Updates

May2

On Saturday, May 7th I will be in costume as Kitty Pryde at my local comic store for Free Comic Book Day. If you’re in the area, please come out and support Teahouse Comics during this event. There will be several other great costumers there and don’t forget free comic books!

Also on that Saturday, the Final Fantasy Distant Worlds concert finally makes its way to Atlanta. I have been waiting for this day since they first announced this series of concerts and I couldn’t be more excited. As an eternal Final Fantasy fan, I can say without a doubt that it is going to be epic!

In costuming news, I currently have two costumes in the works: Miss Martian from Young Justice and Jessica from Lunar. I hope to have both completed before the end of May so expect some costume updates soon!

Kamikaze Kiss member Meru has been accepted into the JET program and will be going overseas to teach in the great country of Japan. Though this will put some of our group costumes on hold, I am absolutely thrilled for her. She worked hard for this, like she works hard on everything. Please check out her amazing work on her website!

Last week I was featured as nerdbastards.com’s Sexy Cosplay of the Week. I’d like to thank them for the great article and the exposure. You can check it out here.

And don’t forget, the Gamer Girl contest I’m in is still on until June 1st. Please take a moment to vote for me here. Remember, you can vote daily. I really appreciate all your support! If you want to read what qualifies me as a gamer girl, you can check out my interview on OHMS’s website.

Thank you for visiting!

Please vote for me!

April13

I’m currently entered in OHMS’ Gaming Girl Contest. If you like my work, please take a second to vote for me! The contest ends on June 1st and you can vote for up to three contestants every day! I grew up playing Sonic the Hedgehog on the Sega Genesis and my love of video games has only grown over the years. I love games like Rock Band, Soul Calibur, TF2, and I’m always on the lookout for the next great RPG release.

For more information on the contest, or to enter yourself, check it out here! Thank you!
